444 Oriental and Western Therapeutic Exercise
An introduction to Oriental and Western Therapeutic exercise to treat disease, traumatic injury, and
accelerate the physical rehabilitation of the body. Indications, contraindications, and therapeutic
effects of exercise will be discussed.
Prerequisites: 313 Anatomy and Physiology III; 351N Introduction to Acupuncture I; 361 Fundamental Theories of Chinese Medicine; and 365N Five

461 Ching The Book of Changes
"Without understanding the I Ching, it is not possible to become a supreme doctor." Sun
Si-Miao. An introduction to one of the oldest extant Chinese Classics, this course will present various methods
of casting Hexagrams and the theories needed to interpret them. Examinations of Future and Inner
Hexagrams, Trigrams, and moving lines will be covered with emphasis on the medical indications of
the Trigrams and Hexagrams.

462 Feng Shui: Chinese Geomancy I
Feng Shui is a form of geomancy which examines how to align ourselves, our buildings and interiors
with the energy fields around us. This class introduces the theoretical foundations, history and origins,
East-West teaching, and the Eight Orientations of a building.

463 Feng Shui: Chinese Geomancy II
A continuation of 462 Feng Shui: Chinese Geomancy I, this class will examine more in depth
understanding of magnetic field theory, magnetic field number system, use of a geomancer's compass
(10 p'an), and more practical application exercises.

464 Feng Shui: Chinese Geomancy III
Application of advanced theory to more case studies. This class will focus more on the step by step
process for doing advanced level analysis out in the field. Students team up to do field exercises.
Class meetings will include discussions on advanced magnetic field number systems, number
combinations and their significance. Certification from the American Feng Shui Institute issued upon
successful test evaluation. Prerequisite:

577 OMT 11: Stroke Rehabilitation
This class will examine the various traditional Chinese therapeutics used in the field of physical
rehabilitation with emphasis on stroke rehabilitation. Acupuncture techniques (including scalp
acupuncture), and therapeutic exercises will be covered.
