About Us

We are one of the oldest non-traditional medical libraries in the US. Our library serves the information needs of the Samra University faculty members, students, employees, Samra Clinic supervisors, practicum students and community. It accomplished its mission by assuring to maintain access to quality information sources in all formats. Also we provide online instruction and training for access and use of professional databases and web resources. We have a library team comprised of a well qualified full-time librarian, and part-time library assistants with medical knowledgeable to assist your study and research. Our staff is bilingual. We also have a bookstore where you can buy study material you need.

Collection

Our library has about 7000 items: books (Including online-books), study guides, journals (including online-journals), multimedia, newspapers, newsletters, pamphlets, herb samples, human body models and online databases. Our collection focuses on supporting the programs curriculum and professional research. We also have approximately 500 doctoral dissertations on file going back to the early eighties. They are catalogued by keywords (i.e., Boolean search) to allow one to find the vast research materials not published in any other place. To complement the number of physiology books we pride ourselves on the many posters of acupuncture, human body and animal models.
