Title of Practitioner: Doctor of Acupuncture (DOM)
Education and Examination Requirements:
2500 hours from ACCAOM plus NCCAOM certification
Practice of Acupuncture by other Health Care Providers:
Medical doctors and osteopaths must have at lease 300 hours of acupuncture education in order to practice medical acupuncture in Rhode Island .
Acupuncture is not within the scope of practice of chiropractors.
