Title of Practitioner: Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)
Education and Examination Requirements:
4050 hours from an ACCAOM plus NCCAOM Certification
Practice of Acupuncture by other Health Care Providers:
In order to practice acupuncture in New York , a medical doctor or osteopath must have a minimum of 300 hours of training in acupuncture. They hold the title, Certified Acupuncturist (C.A.).
Acupuncture is not within the scope of practice of chiropractors.
