Title of Practitioner: Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.)
Education and Examination Requirements:
1725 hours from an ACCAOM plus NCCAOM Certification
Practice of Acupuncture by other Health Care Providers:
A medical doctor, osteopath, or chiropractor may practice acupuncture in Alabama .
There is no specific training required for a medical or osteopathic doctor to practice acupuncture.
Chiropractors usually have 100 hours of training, but it is uncertain if this is required by law.
