TIME LIMIT FOR DEGREE COMPLETION
The degree must be earned within 6 calendar years (72 months) from the first date of enrollment.
If a student requires more time than this limit, the student must apply to the Academic Standards Committee for permission to continue in matriculated (degree eligible) status. The Committee may require changes in the student's curriculum for the degree:
- Where the Committee finds that basic information and/or techniques have significantly changed, it may require that certain courses be repeated.Where courses have been modified or replaced, other or additional classes may be required.
- Where former courses are declared obsolete, replacement courses may be required.
The Academic Standards Committee will also review the student's over-all academic performance. If the Committee finds that there is a reasonable prospect for the student to complete the degree program within a specific time period, it will set such a limit, after which the student may no longer be allowed to follow the degree program or may be required to develop a new degree program. If the Committee finds that the student has not been making satisfactory progress, and cannot be expected to complete all degree requirements, including new requirements set by the Committee and/or the University, the Committee may recommend that the student be dismissed from the University. |
